that was my last class ever. or at least for a very long time.

for anyone in, around, near, coming to the baltimore area in the next week or two and is interested: mica's animation department is having our THESIS SHOW from the 15th through the 19th. we'll be showing our work on the BIIIIIIIIIIG SCREEN on the 16th, friday, at 7pm. if you want to come, you're amazing. if you can't, you're still amazing.

but you don't get to see it till sunday when it's all done, i'll be putting it up somewhere ♥

this is the first time all year that nothing else has been in the way of working. it's pretty cool.

couldn't do it. it's 8 in the morning, i've been sitting at a computer for the past...how many hours? how many days? it's been at least a week. i can't see straight anymore. i keep working and working, but it just goes on and on. i opened my unwrap and there was so much left to do, i thought i might cry.

i'll be the only one at the critique today without a textured model, and i'll talk to greg about it this afternoon before class. see if i can hand a finished version in late. thesis isn't going to be done tomorrow either. just...yeah.

my finger won't stop bleeding. the icing on the cake is having to wait twenty minutes just to use the fucking bathroom so i can sleep for an hour or two.

it is SO COLD in this lab and i don't have enough caffeine

okay. 4 sections in all: police vid, jungle, gameshow and movie. the jungle and movie scenes are both about 45 seconds; the jungle one is finished and the movie is...close, just gotta do the middle section. the police section's all but done as well. the gameshow is about 50%. oh, not colored though, this is just sketches. by "finished" i mean ready to clean up and color. that, therefore, is my task for tomorrow. coloring is mindless busywork, doesn't involve any intelligent thought (well, usually it would, but i'm doing block colors; no shading or anything) so it'll go a lot faster than the initial "what the flying fuck am i doing" ness of the animating. sound will be on sunday and the backgrounds will be last (colors i mean; the sketches are already pretty much done)

tomorrow i'm showing in the brown center for animation club, saturday ainsley and i are having a mini-crit. tomorrow i'm gonna try and get the whole thing into a format where i can show it to you guys, because if i do say so myself, it's pretty damn cool so far.

i can accomplish a lot tomorrow if i set myself to it. so i think i'm gonna give up for the night and get a decent amount of sleep.

after graduation i'm going home for about a week. so i do get to see the house one last time, and i get to see my animal horde (and animal-sit while the parents go to their annual hippie camping party thing). any winston people who want to hang out, this will be the last time for a while, since the raleigh move is happening on june 2nd. i'll need to call some people. i want to find bernard and beat him over the head for falling out of touch. i miss him and want to show him how awesome i've gotten since it's been a while =\

my monday class is done done done (although i need to email some renders to xavier)...i can't say how well it went, because my teacher is being suspiciously ambiguous about my student status. not in a good way. it's making me really, really nervous. but it's one class done, one huge time-consuming project over with. the hardest project i have, done.

so it's monday, 4:00. tomorrow is 3d character; my model is supposed to be finished, unwrapped, textured, zbrushed/mudboxed. i will at least have it unwrapped; i might have zbrushing/mudboxing started. might. wednesday i'm supposed to have SOMETHING of substance done. i've still got about 40% of the rough animation to do, but... well. okay. schedule time.

tonight: work on thesis, 4pm-...2/3 am i guess?
tomorrow: texture stuff from 9-10am-10pm. thesis from 10pm-9am
wednesday: crit 9:15-9:45. do readings for thursday, work on thesis
thursday: readings, class, thesis work
friday, saturday: thesis
sunday, monday: 3d char
tuesday: final crit, 3d char
wednesday: final crit, thesis
thursday: paper due. pass the fuck out.

4 hours of sleep, ugh. all i want to do is crawl into bed, but, oh well. this much i can manage. this isn't high school anymore, and i will not be at the bottom of my class anymore.

i'm almost done with monday's project. we're ending the class a week early, so i've had to bust my butt pretty hardcore for it...which isn't so bad, it'll be nice next week. for tuesday, greg wants my model completely unwrapped and textured. it ain't gonna happen, but i'll see how far i get. the modeling is 99% done, i literally only have to attact the mechanical forearm. i would like to take a moment however and say:

mom called; someone made an offer on the house. they want to close in june...i may have a week or two to go home and see everyone before the move, then. i really REALLY hope so actually, there are a lot of people i need to at least say hi to. and there's one person i need to find. anyway, it's apparently a damn good offer, so...congrats to them. they worked hard. the really odd part, though, is that the lady who wants the house is the same lady that did all my acceptance stuff at ncsa. WEIRD DAMN SMALL WORLD...except it's winston-salem. soooo everyone knows everyone there.

i think that's it. oh but i accidentally discovered that homemade teriyaki sauce is way freaking better than the store bottles. most awesome dinner ever.
